On Today’s Show . . .

Let’s talk about CREATIVITY and READINESS.

Let’s talk about how we do the things we do and the specific muscles powering creative success throughout The Elysium Aesthetic.

  • What are the muscles that power our personal creative growth?

  • What pulls in the opposite direction … making creativity more difficult?

  • What does it really mean to be prepared, to be ready to roar as an actor?

Today is about how we show up ready. How we make creative success inevitable.

Let’s discuss! Plus …

  • Truthful Taste: “The Hole” (The West Wing).

  • Personal Crafting Work: The Elysium Lens + Portal Practice.

  • Free-flowing discussion on daily life as an acting artist, training, the profession, and current events - all through the lens of The Elysium Aesthetic.

Any question, any discovery, any anything you’re facing as an actor … we want to know about it, chat about it, turn it into a trampoline.

Join our live caller-driven show on Callin where we celebrate, commiserate, connect and clarify our craft together. Radio Elysium features free-flowing discussion on topics that speak to artistic life, EA classes, professional application, and current events.

Living Truthfully.

Your moments matter.

Here’s a meaningful moment from last week’s episode. Send a moment that mattered to you, along with any feedback & suggestions to actingclassdaily@substack.com.

… and for me this Melanie, this leap, this moment, is just such a culmination of freedom within form.

Things like that cannot happen unless a person is present. Unless a person lets go and gives over with a level of trust of having done everything you need to do to set yourself up for success. Of believing so much - loving the world around you! - that you throw yourself into it!

This is what I want for you. For us to do our work in such a way where we leap always that way.

If you want to taste Creative Communication of the way I want you to enter into your auditions, to go forward in your first table-read, in any of your first rehearsals, on opening night, on your final take, on the seventeenth take where the director is starting to lose patience … it’s that moment right there.

If you want to know what I am hoping for … the flavor of that … it's that you leap that way. Yeah, Melanie's leap …

Truthful Taste

The Hole / Now We’re Both Down Here (The West Wing)

As we approach the end of our “get-to-know-you” month, I wanted to highlight the value of what happens here each Thursday on Radio Elysium.

We may all be in different spots on the globe, places in our careers, moments of belief … but somewhere someone needs to know what you know, hopes to hear they’re not alone, has a perspective and plan to move you forward.

We are in this together. That’s what teammates do.

I’ll never forget this West Wing moment when a humbled Josh finds Leo waiting for him well after everyone else has gone home.

It’s a special moment that tastes of the heart of Radio Elysium. A place where you’ll always find me ready to jump into any hole with you. We move forward together.

This moment from The West Wing gives us today’s truthful taste. Join us live today at 10am PST to share your thoughts.
