On Today’s Show . . .

Let’s talk about IMAGINATION and BELIEF .

Your imagination is the core of your talent as an actor.

We all have imaginations … audience members, fellow actors, we all do.

But the ability to surrender, to accept the truth of it, to believe it so darn obviously that it feels undeniable … is a powerful, professional separator.

🔥❤️🔥

What happens when there are no breaks in your imagination?

Where will you take audiences when you can step onto any stage, in front of any actor, in any imaginative world, with any direction given to you … and believe so fully that you truly live?

This week we lay the groundwork for a month of imaginative celebration …

🔥 Knowing

🔥 Growing

🔥 Accessing

🔥 Applying

… the professional separator of your acting talent, your Actor’s Faith.

Let’s discuss! Plus:

✨ Monday’s ACD Class Recap

✨ Weekly Personal Crafting Work

✨ Thursday Thought

✨ Free-flowing discussion on daily life as an acting artist, training, the profession, and current events - all through the lens of The Elysium Aesthetic.

Any question, any discovery, any anything you’re facing as an actor … we want to know about it, chat about it, turn it into a trampoline.

Join our live caller-driven show on Callin where we celebrate, commiserate, connect and clarify our craft together. Radio Elysium features free-flowing discussion on topics that speak to artistic life, EA classes, professional application, and current events.

Living Truthfully.

Your moments matter.

Here’s a meaningful moment from last week’s episode. Send a moment that mattered to you, along with any feedback & suggestions to actingclassdaily@substack.com.

… That's all we care about. That you get to be the character.

The reason why we're putting in this type of work is so that you get to fully live as the character.

You get to be.

And because you're present, we the audience who's experiencing your work, we're in your instrument with you.

We get to taste what you taste.

We know what you know.

You do something for this world.

It's more than just dancing around as another character.

You're adding things that matter.

Think about the actors, the moments, the roles, that have added things to your life that give you new perspectives, that give you more …

Those usually don't happen when a person is jammed up with their lines or dancing in their own private music video.

That's what we do this work for.

Why we care about acting at a higher level than just the fun.

It is awesome and it is fun.

But there is more available.

There is something dignified, transcendent, about the type of work that can take people where they have never gone before …
