Happy Tuesday! Welcome back to Acting Class Daily. We’re taking our weekly work further with access to my handwritten notes for each audio chapter, the glossary gigantum and … a new nominee for our digital wall.
Have a question about a phrase you’ve heard? Let us know and we’ll translate!
REHEARSAL CHOICE; with each new beginning you have a tone-setting opportunity. Are you going to move forward with your (actor’s) intellect so you can control the results, or are you going to experience living as the character?
Each time we set out into the work those are our two paths.
It’s a choice you get to make. A choice you have to make. Set the tone.
REHEARSAL BARGAIN; an unbreakable, fulfilled promise to live now, learn later.
We are making this promise to ourselves.
To the Daily Body guards and filters that are always there - and now we’re asking them to step aside because we have a deal to make.
A bargain.
We vow that we will do all the figuring out, all the checking in, all the judging … later.
“I promise that anytime I put myself out there (live as the character), I will take the time afterwards to capture everything.”
Imagine if that is true. If you fulfill that bargain. Imagine growing to really believe that.
It’s astonishing what can happen when we trust in ourselves in that way.
Think of how deeply you’d let go knowing all the information will be waiting there for you.
It creates a hunger to rehearse, to go for it!
We build deeper and deeper trust each time we fulfill that promise.
We let go at deeper and deeper levels because we fulfill that promise.
A real trust in letting go. An earned trust in living freely.
A knowing you’ll always have your own back. A knowing you’ll always be caught.
We had a tradition of capturing quotes on the Elysium walls. The torch has now been passed to the digital realm. Here’s this week’s nominee … and the .GIF it inspires:
