Happy Tuesday! Welcome back to Acting Class Daily. We’re taking our weekly work further with access to my handwritten notes for each audio chapter, the glossary gigantum and … a new nominee for our digital wall.
Have a question about a phrase you’ve heard? Let us know and we’ll translate!
ACTOR’S FAITH; the ability to experience what is imaginary as if it was real.
We all have imaginations …
But an ability to taste circumstances, costumes, sets, lines, relationships, bodies, imaginative worlds … as real … to live in them.
That is your talent as an actor.
Your ability to believe, coupled with what you know about this world (your empathy), separates you from any actor who has ever lived.
How you believe … how fully, how freely, how simply and obviously … speaks to the depths of your acting talent and gifts your audiences with transcendence (tastes beyond the range of normal human experience).
We had a tradition of capturing quotes on the Elysium walls. The torch has now been passed to the digital realm. Here’s this week’s nominee … and the .GIF it inspires:
